Anderson FEMBA

Received some good news this week from my MBA hunt.. I got accepted into UCLA's Anderson Fully Employed MBA program. Basically, it's the regular MBA but lengthened to 3 years to allow students to continue working while obtaining the degree. There is a weekend only option (at least for the core courses), so it looks like I'll be spending most of my weekends in LA for the next 3 years :P

I suppose this program is next to the best thing, with the best being of course the top notched Bay Area schools (Berkeley's Haas and Stanford) since I didn't apply to any backup schools such as Santa Clara or other local schools. Having already been shot down by Haas and Stanford, I was certainly very happy to hear the positive news from Anderson :)

One tricky part is that school starts pretty much when little Melissa (probable name) is expecting. There's a 1 week program that I'll have to attend from Sept. 9 - 13, and we're expecting on the 15th.. Hopefully, Melissa won't show up early. After that 1 week program, I'll only have to be there every Saturday, so things are much more manageable.

Another Year Older!

How time flies.. Another year has gone by and I'm turning what.. 25 again? Sandy decided to organize a little gathering for me and we ate lunch at a Japanese restaurant with some friends and had a good time. The food there is pretty good, although some of it is a little more fusion / Korean-Japanese style as I think the restaurant is actually owned by Koreans. But it doesn't matter as long as the food tastes good :)
Sandy also got a cake for me.. It was a fruit cake from La Patissary and most people commented that it was very yummy. It's great to no longer be single, so that there's someone to organize and celebrate these events with you! Thanks Sandy :)

Mother's Day 2008

This past weekend was Mother's day weekend. This is the last Mother's day that Sandy won't really be a mom any more! Unfortunately, lately her work has been really busy so it couldn't be a totally relaxing, do nothing weekend, but we did do a few things to celebrate.

On Saturday night, we went and had some Steak, which Sandy had been craving for a while now. Then, on Sunday, we had dim sum with Aunt Anna, who is like a second Mom to me. Uncle Ben, Michael, Jen, Ethan, and Evan were there too. We order way too much food and had tons of left over, and everyone had a full tummy afterwards :)

Of course, last but not least (in fact the most important), we each phoned our dear Mom, and also send a card.. Hopefully everyone had a good Mother's Day weekend!
